Branch / Eastern Branch

Welcome to the branch

Our regional population is served by six integrated care boards, with 22 hosted NHS provider organisations. In addition, there are several community interest companies, plus local authorities and a huge number of voluntary sector organisations that make up and support the six integrated care systems. From a healthcare perspective, the East of England is a hugely varied region that plays host to some real extremes, from the most deprived population in the country (Jaywick, in Essex), to some of the world’s most advanced providers (Addenbrookes and Papworth), courtesy of it hosting one of the world’s top universities in Cambridge.

The health organisations of the East of England are supported by the HFMA Eastern Branch. We are an active group, working to provide a schedule of events designed to complement the national programme, and to reflect the interests and needs of our local membership.

We’re always looking for suggestions and would be happy to welcome anyone who wants to be more involved into the organising committee.

The group is proud to work with the East of England Finance Academy.

The next Eastern branch annual conference is scheduled for 24-26 February 2025.

What makes the branch unique?

Annual branch conference

The branch runs a three day conference every year. Day one consists of a menu of workshops that members can attend, with days two and three involving an in-person networking element. The event consists of sessions run by prominent key note addresses, experts on current/specific issues facing the health service and of course motivational speakers.

Bands 2 to 6 conference

The branch runs a two-day conference in Cambridge focused on the needs of B2-6 staff and those studying for financial qualifications. There's a separate committee that is heavily involved in the development of the agenda for that (and other) events. We would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to be involved in that committee, or even if all you need to do is feed in your development needs that we may be able to address in future. Please contact [email protected] for more information.

Subsidised branch events

The East of England operates a levy system, which allied to a high level of sponsorship means that all our events, including the Branch Conference are often free to attend.
