The HFMA Wales branch look forward to welcoming you back online to the NHS regional finance event of the year! 


The HFMA Wales Branch will be hosting its Awards Ceremony at the Wales Annual Conference 2023 taking place at The Vale resort on Thursday 28 September.

The branch believes this to be a perfect opportunity to recognise local achievements, hard work and commitment from within the region and to be acknowledged and appreciated amongst colleagues and friends.

Each award will be judged by an appropriate panel which will include members of the Wales Branch Committee. The judges will select a winning person or team whom matches the criteria and is in their view the best entrant.

Who can enter?

The Branch awards are open to all healthcare organisations within the Wales region.

Finance Team of the Year

This award recognises the contribution that a finance team has made in the last twelve months to promoting and improving teamwork, innovation, collaboration, transformation and governance.

This award aims to recognise an exemplar in-house Finance Team that delivers a service beyond business as usual and drives business strategy, growth, and efficiency.

Entries must demonstrate how they consistently deliver best practice, innovation, added value to the business and deliver leading edge ideas that are positively impacting the overall business success.

The winning team will be collaborative and partner with the wider business in order to achieve organisational goals. It must also be forward thinking, generating improvements and new innovations within finance and the wider business.

Criteria

  • Entry is open to all in-house Finance Teams.
  • We would encourage nominations to focus on teams between 3 to 10 People.
 

Student of the Year

This award is designed to reward outstanding talent among Finance Individuals studying to become Financial Professionals.

Entrants will need to show that they have not only excelled in their exams, but that they have gone above and beyond in their attitude to development.

This might include assuming extra responsibilities, taking on and completing special projects, or assuming a role much earlier than would otherwise be expected.

Criteria

  • The award is open to individuals currently studying or qualified within the last 12 months.

Innovation, Digital and Data

This award recognises the contribution that an individual or team has made in the last twelve months with the use of and/or engagement with others in the digital analytical and innovation space.

This award aims to recognise the delivery a service beyond business as usual and drives business strategy, growth, and efficiency.

Entries must demonstrate how they delivered innovation, added value to the business and improved engagement with Clinical/Operational Colleagues.

It must also be forward thinking, generating improvements and new innovations within finance and the wider business.

Criteria

  • We would encourage nominations to focus on individuals or small teams between 1 to 5 People.

Outstanding Commitment

Outstanding commitment is awarded where employees are adding value through their contributions and behaviours, using initiative and supporting others to improve the service delivered, over a sustained period of time.

This award is designed to recognise those individuals that continuously provide a high quality service to both the financial management and their support to the area that they work within.

Professional Development

The Professional Development Award is designed to recognise the support and commitment of an individual to the development of others both within and outside of the finance team.

The Awards will be given to individuals or small groups who have not only delivered in their role but gone above and beyond expectations in their aim of providing support, training and development to others inside and outside of their own organisation.

Criteria

  • We would encourage nominations to focus on individuals or small teams between 1 to 5 People
