04 January 2021
1 CPD hour
To generate and make the best use of cost data, costing teams need to work closely with informatics staff.  Collaborative working can cover a number of areas including the provision of non-financial data to support the generation of cost data, ensuring non-financial data is good quality, supporting the extraction of cost data for local use and analysis of data to produce business intelligence.

This briefing provides a summary of a webinar which took place on 7 July 2020. The webinar described how costing and informatics staff at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust have built a successful working relationship between their teams, which has resulted in an improvement in the quality of costing information. Members of the Healthcare Costing for Value Institute can watch the recorded webinar here.

This briefing is the second part of the Healthcare Costing for Value Institute ‘Costing with informatics’ series, which forms part of the Institute's Costing Revolution workstream. You can access part one of the series here.
