News alert / Welsh national care service
The Welsh government has published the initial implementation plan for creating a national care and support service. It has committed to a three-stage delivery plan over 10 years. The first stage is already under way, covering the years up to 2025. Stage 2 will run from 2026 to 2028, with the third stage staring in 2029. Stage 1 has a number of components including developing proposals for the functions of a National Care and Support Office and drafting a pay and progression framework for social care.
