Overview
This course provides an understanding of how NHS organisations buy goods and services. It looks at public procurement policy and legislation, and the governance arrangements within NHS organisations before explaining the basic procurement processes in use. The course also looks at contract management and considers what happens if the usual processes can’t be followed.
This course is suitable for staff who are new to the NHS, managing a budget, operational staff, governors/ board members, clinical staff and finance staff.

How do I achieve a Foundation award in healthcare finance?
This course can count towards the Foundation award in healthcare finance. To achieve the award you will need to complete five bitesize short courses, including the compulsory short course ‘NHS finance’. The Foundation award can be purchased for just £165+VAT.
On completion of the Introductory award in healthcare finance you will gain:
