This course aims to provide a basic understanding of what costing is, what it involves and how it operates in the NHS. As well as explaining key costing concepts (including cost types, definitions and behaviour), the course looks at the approach to costing, how it works in practice and how costing information is used.
This course is suitable for staff who are new to the NHS, managing a budget, clinical staff, governors/ board members and finance staff.

How do I achieve a Foundation award in healthcare finance?
This course can count towards the Foundation award in healthcare finance. To achieve the award you will need to complete five bitesize short courses, including the compulsory short course ‘NHS finance’. TheFoundation award can be purchased for just £165+VAT.
On completion of the Foundation award in healthcare finance you will gain:

- 15 hours accredited CPD
