Briefing / Roundtable: on the right track
In the next few months integrated care systems (ICSs) will become pivotal organisations in the bid to transform care in England. A recent HFMA roundtable, supported by Grant Thornton, looked at the steps they are taking, and the tools they are adopting, to speed up improvements in the quality and efficiency of care.
The roundtable looked at the need to recover services – in community, mental health, and primary care, as well as acute – and the role ICSs could play in addressing health inequalities. Data analysis can be central to these efforts, though there are barriers, attendees said. Others pointed to the need for finance and other NHS disciplines to do things differently to help accelerate transformation.
