Briefing / Mental health PLICS toolkit - (summary)

Although all NHS providers of mental health services now prepare patient-level information and costing systems (PLICS), use of the data is at an early stage in many mental health trusts. Those mental health trusts who have recently implemented PLICS are asking how can they turn their copious PLICS data into useful information.

The HFMA Healthcare Costing for Value Institute has developed a mental health PLICS toolkit to support trusts turn the data generated into powerful intelligence. It is hoped that by sharing the toolkit examples with other staff within their organisation, trusts can sell the benefits of PLICS to those who are currently less well engaged.
