The HFMA has responded to NHS Improvement and NHS England’s proposed changes to the payment system in 2020/21.

Members of the HFMA’s Payment Systems and Specialised Services Committee welcome efforts to simplify payment systems, but are unsure how blended payment approaches support national policy or direction for maternity and adult critical care. Members also have concerns over the pace of change.
