Subsidiary companies: financial and governance considerations (Dec 2018 update)
12 December 2018
This briefing is intended to act as a useful list of issues for NHS finance teams to consider when establishing a subsidiary or entering into a joint working arrangement. It does not provide any advice on whether this is the right action for any particular NHS body to enter into, it simply sets out some of the issues that should be considered. It is based on the real experiences of our colleagues working in the NHS.
The briefing starts by looking at the business case that should be developed before entering into a new way of working. It considers accounting and governance issues and touches on communication and staffing.
