Briefing / Case studies in turnaround
At its first Policy Forum event in 2006, HFMA members and invited guests from around the NHS discussed turnaround and how it compared to earlier approaches to financial recovery in the NHS. The Forum concluded that it would be useful to pull together a series of case studies on turnaround to improve understanding of this βnewβ approach to restoring financial balance and moving beyond into financial surplus.
This collection of articles, based on interviews with finance directors in NHS trusts and foundation trusts, is the result of that meeting and aims to improve understanding of how different organisations have approached turnaround.
