Speaker / Nicky Lloyd

Nicky joined the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust as chief finance officer in January 2019, and was acting chief executive from August 2020 to March 2021. She is passionate about helping to make the NHS more sustainable and is the Trust lead for Net Zero Carbon, having led the development of the Trust Green Plan.

The trust is part of the New Hospital Programme, and the early drawdown of enabling funds meant that the Trust could de-steam the Reading site,  leading to significant savings of water, energy and hence carbon.  The Trust  has an established  network of Net Zero Carbon champions who are driving forward, at pace, the adoption of best practice, and Nicky is keen to encourage the sharing of good ideas into delivery across the NHS and beyond.
