This course looks at how providers of NHS services in England are reimbursed for the services they deliver. This course looks at the development of the payment mechanism, how it works in practice and the way it is changing to reflect greater integration in healthcare. Once completed you will understand the strengths and weaknesses of funding flows within local health economies and identify areas where this might be improved.
This intermediate course is accredited by the CPD standards office. On completion of this course you will receive a certificate of completion as evidence of 6 hours accredited CPD for your professional development.
You can complete this intermediate course as part of a series of 11 courses, to achieve the HFMA Intermediate certificate ‘How finance works in the NHS’. This is equivalent to an undergraduate level certificate worth 20 academic credits.
