Branch / Kent, Surrey and Sussex Branch

The branch is particularly proud of its annual conference, our flagship event which takes place over a 24hour period. The location is changed biennially to each county helping to ensure it is as accessible as possible to all our members. Day One consists of regional updates from senior finance leaders, prominent key note addresses, experts on current/specific issues facing the health service. A menu of workshops aligned to the theme of the conference and closing day one with a gala dinner and award ceremony recognising the achievements of colleagues locally. Days Two begins with a Patient Champion, career stories to inspire and motivate with closing sessions from motivational speakers.

Our Mini Summer Conference has become a prominent event in our calendar, providing the opportunity to network and socialise after an afternoon of topical and relevant sessions. The venue is chosen that allows for an activity to follow on from the afternoon sessions.

The Branch is keen to seize the opportunity provided by the national offer of free membership to all finance staff in Band 2-6. The branch has very recently surveyed branch membership to identify the needs of all its members and to look at what can be tailored specifically for Bands 2-6.

The branch is proud to have a member on the National Student Committee who is currently working on building a network for students within Kent, Surrey and Sussex. We are proud to link in with Eastern Branch for the jointly hosted Student Conference held each year.

We would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to be involved in the student network. In addition to this network there are fantastic opportunities to represent the branch on any of the national HFMA committees and special interest groups.
