Opening keynote: The NHS long term plan – where are we now?

Launched in 2019, the NHS Long Term Plan set a clear vision for the future of mental health care in the NHS, emphasising prevention, early intervention, investment, workforce expansion, and integration with physical health.
Since then, a global pandemic and the current cost-of-living crisis have increased demand across the country in mental services to unprecedented levels, challenges which have been further compounded by a workforce shortage in the NHS.

Given the external challenges outlined above, Claire will explore to what extent these objectives have been met and outline the future ambitions for mental health services in the NHS.
