Event / HFMA London Branch: lunch and learn - value maker of the year award winner Joanna McMahon

Joanna McMahon is the Senior Strategic Business Manager in the Finance Business Development team.  Before moving to Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Strategy Team in 2019, Joanna had previously worked in the Clinical Education Team at London Ambulance for over 16 years.  She has been with the LGT Finance Team since 2021. 

‘When I first joined the team, as a non-financial member, I was keen to explore how I could use my unique skills and experience to enhance and develop the culture within and develop our communication to drive better collaboration with each other and our internal/external partners. 

This journey started with the setting up of the Wellbeing Action Group and has since included supporting the development of our Finance strategy and associated working groups and leading on the creation of a corporation social responsible indicative and FFF level 3 accreditation. 

For Joanna being a value maker is about being able to stick your head above the parapet and draw out those unique individual attributes, skills and abilities that sit within the team and harness them in a way that enables the team to move forward.’ 

Joanna will showcase some of the work that supported the Level 3 accreditation, with a focus on the development of the Finance Strategic Working Groups and how they are threaded across the day-to-day finance function.
