This one-day event will provide support to finance staff as they help their organisations and systems to reduce health inequalities and prevent ill health. The conference will include keynotes as well as practical workshops and discussion.

    In this session, Ann will emphasise the importance of addressing health inequalities, focusing on the findings from the REAL Centre’s Health inequalities in 2040 report. She will explore the potential risks and challenges outlined in the report, which projects the future landscape of health inequalities if current trends persist.

    Kendal and Lloyd will discuss how his team uses detailed patient-level analysis to identify health outcome disparities and inform resource allocation decisions. Kendal's highlight the importance of data in guiding strategic actions to reduce health disparities within the NHS.

    This session will explore the crucial role of prevention in addressing health inequalities, focusing on modifiable risk factors such as smoking and addiction. It will examine how tackling preventable conditions can reduce pressure on healthcare services, improve healthy life expectancy, and align with NHS long-term objectives for better management of long-term conditions.

Our health inequalities and prevention workstream

Providing support to finance staff as they help their organisations and systems to reduce health inequalities and prevent ill health.

  • Tickets can be substituted up until the day prior to the event start, to allow a colleague to attend in place of the original registrant.
  • 80% refund up to one month before the first date of the event.
  • 50% refund between one month and up to two weeks before the first day of the event.
  • No refund where cancellation is received with less than two weeks’ notice.
