About this event

Set across three days, this virtual conference will offer something for the entire finance function, across all NHS sectors. Attendees can expect a varied programme of live streamed sessions as well as a digital exhibition and networking areas to meet with colleagues virtually.

The conference will bring together all of the HFMA Hub Networks including providers, commissioners, mental health and community organisations as well as those working at a system level. The programme will be a mixture of national strategic updates from Arm’s Length Bodies alongside various workshop channels covering topics such as workforce, technology, resilience, sustainability, value based healthcare and integrated health and social care.

Why you should attend

With the absence of face to face events and meetings, it can be challenging to gain beneficial CPD as well as missing out on sharing and hearing best practice. With such a varied programme, there will be something for everyone.

This conference is CPD accredited and provides an opportunity for finance leaders to ensure their teams are keeping their CPD up to date during these challenging times as well as providing an opportunity to hear the latest on national policy, learn from peers and meet virtually with colleagues, which is so important.

How can I find out what’s happening at the conference?
You will be able to access the event 45 minutes before the first session starts on the first day of the event. Our virtual platform will have a programme and links to all event content, plus an exhibition and networking opportunities. You can also find the full version of the programme and information on our speakers by visiting the HFMA website here.

How can I access the content? 
Our online virtual platform can be accessed from any internet browser, although we do recommend Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox wherever possible. In the lead up to the event the events team will send information on how to access the event to every team member that has been registered.  

Can we broadcast this from our meeting room? 
We encourage the whole team to come together, particularly for some of the main stage events. You’re welcome to broadcast the event from a meeting room in the office, however If the event is operating under a fair usage policy, we’re happy to register your whole finance team so everyone has a log in. Make sure to log onto the platform from your desktop in order to network with colleagues and to visit the virtual exhibition floor to connect with our commercial colleagues.  

Is there an option to attend in person? 
Our priority is to keep our members and staff safe so for the HFMA summer conference so all sessions are online. We have partnered with a great virtual event platform that will provide many of the opportunities you have always enjoyed.

Can I just buy one ticket? 
We have designed the programme to ensure that it is relevant to the whole finance team to encourage organisations to participate as a team. We do understand that circumstances may not always allow this to happen, please do get in touch with our team to discuss the options available.

What is a license?
Instead of selling individual delegate tickets we're encouraging organisations to open the opportunity up to the team. If the event is operating under the fair usage policy, you can submit all of the names of those in your finance team so they each have a license to access the event. Each license is effectively a unique log in for every member of your finance team.

What is the fair usage policy? 
We want everyone in your team to be able to attend the event. However, to ensure that HFMA are not covering the cost for unused licenses, we cap the number of licenses available to 50 per organisation. If more than 50 individuals from your organisation would like to the attend the event, please contact Josie.Baskerville@hfma.org.uk for more information.  

What online platform is being used and can I test it?  
The platform we’ve partnered with is Hopin, which will provide a brilliant virtual conference and exhibition experience. Once your organisation has confirmed you as a delegate for the conference you will be sent a unique registration link to access the event when it starts. In the meantime, you can create an account on Hopin and check that it is compatible with your device and browser at https://hopin.to/. You can find some additional points below:
  1. For the best experience we recommend accessing the platform via Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on a PC, laptop, tablet or Mac. If you are planning to view the conference from an NHS PC or laptop at work, please get in touch with your IT department now to ensure any firewall issues are resolved beforehand.
  2. Internet speed will play a factor in your experience on the platform. We recommend a minimum of 5mbps download and 2mbps upload. Ideally, we like to see 30mbps download and 10mbps upload or higher for the best quality - test your speed here.
  3. If you’re interested in attending another virtual HFMA event on Hopin, visit the HFMA website for all upcoming HFMA events.
How do I access the event?
We recommend accessing the event through either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. In the lead up to the event, you will receive a registration link (it will come into your inbox from “HFMA” and will be titled “Your Registration”). You will then receive a second email following a security check titled “Confirm Registration & Join!” from HFMA. You will find two links within this email; “Confirm and Join Event” and “+Add to Calendar”. Right click over the “Confirm and Join Event”, copy the URL and paste into a Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser. This will take you straight into the event.

I have clicked on the link titled “Accept Registration” in the “Your Registration” from HFMA email, but I have not received a second email from HFMA titled “Confirm Registration & Join!”
Please try right clicking the “Accept Registration” link, copy URL and pasting that link into either a Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser. It might be that the link was opened in a browser that does not support Hopin. If this does not produce the email titled “Confirm Registration & Join HFMA Summer Conference!”, please contact events.support@hfma.org.uk 

I have clicked on the “Confirm and Join Event” but my link has expired or it is not taking me into the event
Please find the original email titled “Your Registration” in your inbox from HFMA. We would recommend searching for this in your inbox. Click the registration link within this email and begin the process again (please see FAQ “How do I access the event”). If you are still having issues getting into the event, please contact events.support@hfma.org.uk

I haven’t received a registration link from HFMA. How do I access the event?
You should expect to receive a link at least 48 hours prior to the event starting, unless you have booked within 48 hours. Please contact event.support@hfma.org.uk and a member of the HFMA team will be in touch with a link.

I’m being asked to enter a username and password. What do I do?
If you haven’t registered for the event, please see FAQs, “How do I access the event” and FAQ “I haven’t received a registration link from HFMA. How do I access the event?” If you have registered for the event, and you’re being asked to log in, you will need to set up a password. Simply click “I’ve forgotten my password”, and it will give you option to create a password and enter the event.

If I take up one of the licenses in my organisation, can I transfer it to a colleague or will it only work for me across the whole conference?  
For events not under the fair usage policy, we can transfer licences in the lead up to the conference if you can no longer use your place and would like to give it to a colleague. However, once the conference starts each licence will remain in the name of the delegate it has been assigned to. If you wish to give a colleague access during the conference with your unique log in, they will have to appear on the event as you under your Hopin account. For those events under the fair usage policy, including the HFMA summer conference, please get in touch and we will ensure everyone who needs a license has a license within the conditions of the policy.

How many CPD hours will I get, and how will they be calculated if I don't watch all the content?
It is really important that you keep a note of all the sessions you’ve attending, and how many hours’ worth of CPD you have gained. Once you have completed the online feedback form, you will be sent a CPD certificate with a blank space to insert the number of CPD hours you accumulated across the event. The HFMA cannot advise on the number of CPD hours you have accumulated across the event.

Will I get access to the recorded content afterwards?  
The recorded content from the conference will be available to all registered delegates approximately two weeks after the event, if not earlier. We will notify delegates when the content is available.

Tickets include an online pass for all members of your finance team. There is no strict limit on the number of passes, but the amount is subject to the fair usage policy. The HFMA will be in touch closer to the date of the event to request details of the team members who would like to join the event online.
