Case study / Tackling unwarranted variation and maximising value in healthcare using the NHS RightCare approach

This case study gives focus to the work over the past year at NHS Southampton City CCG around the NHS RightCare programme and addressing unwarranted variation in healthcare. The piece begins by introducing the NHS RightCare programme and approach. Focus is given to how the NHS RightCare programme can help to identity the variation in access, quality, cost and outcomes across CCG’s in England. To demonstrate this, the study describes the journey of NHS Southampton City CCG by sharing their action plan.
