HFMA response / The HFMA response to NHS Improvement’s section 118 notice (tariff 2017/19)

We welcome the move to release information relating to the coming year’s National Tariff at the earliest opportunity. While this has contributed to a very busy period of planning and contracting for our members, we recognise that having the National Tariff at this stage is an improvement of the timetable in previous years. Members raised issues relating to: efficiency, control totals, CNST, high cost devices, specialised services, mental health payment approaches, a number of chapter-specific issues and the need to progress some of the more difficult issues before the next tariff is due.
