HFMA mentor

Andrew is a certified accountant and project manager, who has worked in both the NHS and charity sector since 1989. Andrew developed from being a district trainee in the NHS, to becoming a director of finance of a national charity, having worked in both financial management and management accounts.

Andrew has led a team of 50, as well as working on his own. In recent years he used his financial skills as a project manager – integrating a range of mental health and community services into a new provider, undertaking service based business management, resourcing pathology services, and supporting clinical teams to develop their business models.

Andrew is a Fellow of ACCA, a member of the Association of Project Managers, a member of the Institute of Healthcare Managers, a member of the Honorary Treasurers Forum, and a member of HFMA. He has sat on the ACCA Healthcare Panel, and the London HFMA Panel.

He is committed to both his own personal development, and to the development of others - whether in finance, or in clinical services and gains considerable personal satisfaction in supporting this development, whether through teaching, mentoring, or in casual conversation.

Andrew has a relaxed and personal style, which seeks to develop the individual or group through self-discovery of skills and understanding. He makes use of metaphors and models as well as personal experience.
