Guidance map / NHS digital technologies resources map
This map brings together tools and resources that will be useful to finance teams supporting digital transformation within their organisations
Digital technologies such as digital medicine, genomics, artificial intelligence and robotics have a huge potential to transform the delivery of healthcare. These technologies can empower patients to participate actively in their care, with a greater focus on wellbeing and prevention. They also support the prediction of individual disease risk and personalise the management of long-term conditions.
This map brings together tools and resources that will be useful to finance teams supporting digital transformation within their own organisations. The map will also help clinical and informatics teams who want to understand how to make the case for digital investment.
The map includes:
• introduction to digital technologies
• making the case for investment
• implementation and change management
• evaluation
• examples of delivering value with digital technologies
• glossary
The map forms part of the Delivering value with digital technologies programme that the HFMA is delivering, supported by the NHS Digital Academy. The aim is to increase awareness amongst NHS finance staff about digital healthcare technologies, and enable finance to take an active role in supporting the use of digital technology to transform services and drive value and efficiency.
