HFMA response / The HFMA’s response to MHCLG’s Local audit framework: technical consultation
The HFMA has responded to the MHCLG’s consultation on changes to the local audit framework.
There are a number of common issues faced in health and local government audit and Audit Reporting and Governance Authority (ARGA) will have a key role in monitoring, reporting and coordinating solutions in a way that works across the whole system. The HFMA has set these out current challenges in the recent briefing, The NHS external audit market: current issues and possible solutions, and audit blogs Targeting sustainable external audit and What to do about external audit in the NHS?
Any changes made will impact across the whole of the audit market and we are pleased that the consultation recognises the importance of maintaining alignment between local government audit and health audit.
