The mental health investment standard (MHIS) requires CCGs to demonstrate that their 2018/19 investment in mental health has risen at a faster rate than their overall programme funding. At the same time Implementing the five year forward view for mental health sets out a number of access and quality standards for specific mental health services to meet.

This survey asked how confident NHS providers and commissioners of mental health services were, that their system would meet the required level of investment and achieve the targets asked of them.

This briefing sets out a summary of the responses received from 26 mental health provider trusts and 20 clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) over the period November 2018 to January 2019 and considers the implications for the sector.

The full document of the detailed faculty write up is open to all members of the mental health faculty is available here.

The full document of the detailed commissioner results open to all members of the commissioning faculty is available here.
