Head of Costing / Finance Business Partner – South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Stuart is a CIMA qualified accountant who has worked for the NHS since 1992 in a range of finance roles across the north east of England and Yorkshire. He is a member of the HFMA Costing for Value Institute Council.
He led the implementation and development of PLICS (using Healthcost software) at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. He chaired the Healthcost/IQVIA User Group for 6 years, and was a member of the Reference Costs Advisory Group and the HFMA Acute & Community Costing Practitioner Groups.
Stuart has also worked with NHSI/NHSE and their partners on a range of issues, including minimum software requirements, costing standards, theatre costing, medical staffing and emergency/out of hours cost profiles.
He was also the finance representative on the DH QIPP Orthopaedic Procurement Group. This group worked with leading orthopaedics clinicians to develop a national strategy for implants procurement. Work undertaken by this group helped to inform the development of the Model Hospital.
