Dr Jane Carlile
Dr Carlile qualified from Newcastle upon Tyne Medical School.
She has worked for Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Foundation Trust for over 25years in a variety of clinical areas including both in-patient & community adult psychiatry services as well as with the tertiary eating disorder service & drug & alcohol services.
Dr Carlile is Group Medical Director for In-patient Care Services within Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Foundation Trust. Alongside this operational managerial role Dr Carlile offers senior medical expertise to the Trust project team responsible for repatriating patients with an out of area treatment package.
Dr Carlile was invited to be the Royal College of Psychiatry Lead for Mental Health Outcomes and sits on the Department of Health Data Programme Board. She has jointly written papers on mental health outcomes, presented at College meetings and to North East Commissioners. This has enabled the dissemination of national developments benefiting service users. She is also Specialist Advisor for Mental Health Payment Systems for the Royal College of Psychiatrists & is responsible for writing the College’s response to proposed national changes concerning mental health payment rules.
