The Governance & Audit Committee promotes best practice and innovation in standards of Governance and Audit across the UK health economy and through the HFMA’s local and national networks.
The Committee develops guidance to help organisations put in place sound governance arrangements and effective audit. Committee publications include the Audit Committee Handbook and the Introductory Guide - NHS Governance
The Committee meets four times a year and draws its membership from across a wide range of organisations working in (and with) the NHS. Current members include representatives from NHS trusts and foundation trusts, CCGs, audit agencies, private sector audit providers, NHS England and Improvement, the CQC, NHS Counter Fraud Authority and the National Audit Office.
