Mike Sarwar, Kaplan
Mike joined Kaplan in October 1991 and specialises in delivering highly interactive training, stretching participants to challenge their established thought processes and associated behaviours when considering the impact of financial reporting and business issues. He has two main streams of delivery: training to build management, commercial and financial skills and delivering technical financial reporting training.
Prior to joining Kaplan he worked as an engineer for Rolls Royce and Ford motor company. He then moved to PwC and qualified as an ACA within the firm. On joining Kaplan he worked for 15 years in the accountancy exam based division, teaching ACA, ACCA and CIMA professional exams. He has in those years taught every subject at every level for all 3 professional bodies.
Since joining Kaplan he has had dual responsibility for developing and delivering technical financial reporting courses and commercial and financial courses for non-accountants with a particular focus on improving the business performance of the sponsoring entity.
Over the last ten years with Kaplan, Mike has worked with a range of private and public sector clients. He has worked around the world, delivering training on four continents, for a wide range of different corporate and national cultures and has wide experience of what learners need in different contexts.
