2021 HFMA Awards shortlist announced

Image removed.Nicci Briggs, Su Rollason and Sheila Stenson have been shortlisted for the HFMA Finance Director of the Year Award. All three are senior NHS leaders. Ms Stenson was HFMA Deputy Finance Director of the Year in 2016.

In the 2021 Deputy Finance Director of the Year category, Guy Dentith of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is shortlisted for the second year in a row. He is joined on the shortlist by Sophie Harrison from the Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Sally Parkinson of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, and Jo Gooch of Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.

Three organisations will compete for the Costing Award – East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust, and Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland clinical commissioning groups.

This year, there are two new awards – the Diversity and Inclusion Award and the Delivering Value with Digital Technology Award. Three organisations have also been shortlisted for the diversity award – Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

The final three for the digital award are: Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust / Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group; Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust; and St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The Portsmouth Hospitals trust is shortlisted in four categories – as well as the digital award, it has reached the final stages of the Working with Finance – Clinician of the Year, Deputy Finance Director of the Year, and Finance Team of the Year awards.

Other NHS organisations have been shortlisted for a number of categories, including the Royal Papworth (Deputy Finance Director, Working with Finance – Clinician of the Year and Havelock awards), and Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Governance, Havelock and Finance Team of the Year awards).

The winners are due to be announced at an awards ceremony during the HFMA Annual Conference on 9 December.
