News / HFMA offers coaching support
The HFMA has launched a coaching service aimed at finance directors and chief finance officers working in healthcare.
‘Finance directors and chief finance officers will need to play a big part in driving and leading innovation and change as part of the current transformation agenda, while also ensuring sound financial management and governance,’ said Alison Myles, the association’s director of education.
‘They need a robust and varied toolbox of support to draw on to meet these challenges.’
The service is targeted at both more experienced directors keen to continue building their skills, and those who are newly appointed and would benefit from time out to develop their thinking and performance as corporate leaders.
‘The HFMA’s executive coaching team comprises experienced, independent executive coaches, who will offer a totally confidential, challenging and supportive service,’ said Ms Myles.
She added that their breadth of experience – including at NHS and commercial board level – and their regional representation would allow coaches to be matched more effectively to individuals’ requirements.
