News alert / Capital strategy delay

An NHS capital strategy will now not be published until summer next year. The strategy was originally intended to be published in autumn 2020. However, in a letter to the Public Accounts Committee this week, Department of Health and Social Care permanent secretary Chris Wormald said the delayed publication would allow the Department to take account of an updated assessment of health infrastructure need, which is currently in progress.
