Event / HFMA London Branch lunch and learn: sustainability
Gloves are Off: Hear about how you can replicate GOSH’s glove use and hand care, in nursing and social care project. Over a 2 year period this simple project reduced the total amount of non-sterile plastic gloves ordered by 4.3 million, saving £108k in reduced purchasing cost, £1.5k in reduced disposal costs and reducing the demand for plastic by 21 tonnes.
Climate & Health Emergency: We’ll also be discussing the organisation’s public acknowledgement of the climate and health emergency and the associated commitments made to respond to it. This will cover our evolving sustainability delivery and governance structure and emissions reduction activity, ranging from active travel and medicines sustainability to education for sustainability, food and nutrition and estate decarbonisation. We’ll also look at projects more focused on addressing environmental/social determinants of health relating to air quality, community and a more healthy public realm.
