This online series of morning webinars will highlight good practice in the NHS and the wide range of benefits that embedding environmental and social sustainability offers, including operating within safe financial limits, to developing robust, resilient and future proof models of prevention and care.

Programme

Monday 1 - Developing a green ED
Kirsty Wavish, sustainability manager (behaviours), estate development & site management,
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust

In this session we will hear about the work undertaken at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust as part of the GreenED programme. Working closely with ambulance and pharmacy colleagues to deliver this, the projects completed, and in-deployment include waste segregation, glove awareness, disposal cups and electricity usage. Kirsty will touch upon the keys to success, areas for improvement and will highlight where financial savings have been made.

Wednesday 3 - Championing carbon champions
Lynn Bushell, Communications and Engagement Lead, Building Berkshire Together / Net Zero Carbon, The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust

Lynn will discuss how The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust has utilised carbon champions and staff engagement to drive environmental sustainability projects across the trust.

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust was highly commended in the HFMA's 2023 environmental sustainability award.

  • 50% refund between two weeks and two days before the first day of the event
  • No refund where cancellation is received with less than two days’ notice
  • Tickets can be substituted up until the day prior to the event start, to allow a colleague to attend in place of the original registrant.
