This module provides an overview of costing in the HSC. It explains the approaches and principles to costing, how it works in practice and how the information is used. No prior knowledge is assumed.

Who will benefit?

New finance staff, clinicians, general practitioners, operational managers and
non-executive directors in Northern Ireland.

If you are studying towards the Introductory Award in Healthcare Finance this module can be counted alongside the compulsory module Introduction to HSC Finance as one of your five modules.

If you are studying towards the Introductory Award in Healthcare Finance this module can be counted alongside the compulsory module ‘HSC finance (Northern Ireland) - how the money flows and is managed’ as one of your five modules.
