Mark Laurence, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer, Western Health
Mark has over thirty years’ experience in finance, the last 20 years as a CFO.
A career that started in manufacturing in one of Australia’s leading multinationals, then to Aged Care working for a large Not-For-Profit and currently in the public sector working for a major metropolitan public health service. Mark has covered the entire range of commercial to public and gained the insights of seeing exactly how these vastly different industries work.
Prior to working in finance Mark held positions in purchasing and warehouse management.
He has worked in the industries of vehicle modification, paper manufacturing, packaging, recycling, aged care and public health.
Currently Mark is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer of Western Health. He also has carriage of all capital works and procurement.
Mark is a Board member of the Victorian Hospitals Industrial Association which represents the industrial interests of members and associate members throughout Victoria. VHIA is the designated body for negotiating enterprise agreements with most employee groups in health.
Mark is also Board member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association which is the national peak body for finance staff in public health.
Mark is a past Board member of Chaplains Without Borders a multi-faith organisation working in many industries.
Mark maintains membership in a number of organisations often with a sporting theme and is currently a member of the Victorian Racing Club, Kooyong Tennis Club, Thirteenth Beach Golf Club and in the arts is a long time supporter of the Melbourne Theatre Company.
