Clinical Director of Data Science and AI; Professor of Neurology, Kings College Hospital and Guys & St Thomas Hospital 

Dr James Teo is a Professor of Neurology with a specialist interest in stroke rehabilitation, general neurology, brain injury and clinical informatics. He is also the Joint Director for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at King's College Hospital and Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, leading the development and deployment of the Cogstack Clinical Analytics System. He is KCH Investigator for the London Medical Imaging and AI Centre for Value Based Healthcare for Machine Vision in Healthcare. His work with natural language processing AI has won AI Awards from NHSX and has been reviewed by the World Economic Forum.

He has written more than 70 peer-reviewed academic papers on topics ranging from Stroke to Parkinson's Disease, and his submission to the Michael J Fox Parkinson's Data Challenge in 2012 on the use of smartphones in Parkinson’s disease was awarded an Honorable Mention. He is chief investigator of a stroke prevention trial using a wearable patch, as well as COVID risk, health data monitoring systems and AI for Natural Language Processing and Machine Vision.
