Alison Sweeting, Training Delivery Manager for CIPFA Education and Training Centre
After studying French and Philosophy at university, Alison joined the UK National Audit Office and became a qualified member of CIPFA. She then moved to CIPFA Education and Training Centre, where she taught for four years before moving into local government. Starting off by managing internal audit, she ended up as an Assistant Director at Croydon Council before deciding to set up on her own as an independent consultant. She undertook long-and short-term projects for organisations such as the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Tower Hamlets Homes and the City of London Corporation before returning to CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2013, where she is now Training Delivery Manager. She is currently on secondment to support the Qualifications and Membership team in CIPFA.
Alison has been involved in volunteering for CIPFA for many years. Her key interests are in learning and development and she is passionate about encouraging, empowering and enabling people to realise their full potential.
