About this event

Following the pandemic restrictions last year and being unable to meet up face to face, Kent Surrey and Sussex branch are excited to be back for our Annual Conference 2021 at The Grand, Brighton in a socially distanced safe environment.  We are taking the opportunity to “build back better” for 2021 by adding new sessions, extending the event (more valuable CPD) moving to a two and a half “weekdays” event. We intend to celebrate emerging from lockdown, whilst maintaining government guidelines.  So looking forwards we have chosen as our theme this year “Sunshine after the rain”.

One consequence of our commitment to ensure that this event goes ahead with the safety of our delegates, our speakers and exhibitors at the forefront of our thinking has been the decision to restrict numbers ensuring we maintain a safe environment. We will be looking to work within all government guidelines at the time resulting in fewer places available so please make sure that you book early to avoid disappointment.

This year will offer optional sessions on Monday 11 October for those new to conference and HFMA.  Plus for students a session to introduce them to the benefits of membership and what HFMA can offer everyone.

The main event starting on Tuesday 12 October will be based on our traditional conference hosted by The Grand Hotel, Brighton.  With a packed programme based around our theme “Sunshine after the rain”.  We will belatedly be celebrating HFMA’s 70th anniversary year as well as emerging from lockdown, offering inspiration and equipping delegates to move forward into a post Covid workplace.

If you would like to book for full conference with overnight accommodation please contact Elizabeth Taylor [email protected] who is keeping a waiting list – thank you.

Who should attend?

All finance staff from across provider, mental health, community and commissioning sectors; as well as key stakeholders from commercial organisations and arms-lengths bodies.

The HFMA annual conference has long been established as the essential event for healthcare finance staff, and is the only event that attracts NHS finance staff and leaders from across the sector.

Why get involved?

It’s been a long time since the opportunity to network with colleagues old and new has been possible.  Come and meet the finance community from across the whole of Kent, Surrey and Sussex in a safe and Covid compliant environment.

Discover the views of some of the most respected speakers.  Hear stories to inspire and motivate. Meet clients to sustain and enhance existing relationships.

Attend our Annual Gala dinner and Award ceremony, where we will celebrate and be entertained.

Sometimes the brightest days follow the darkest storms.

Awards

As you will be aware as part of our October KSS HFMA Branch conference we run an awards ceremony. This is a great way to recognise individual or team performance over the last year and as we are hoping that this year will be a comeback conference and we are preparing a fantastic event in Brighton it would be nice to celebrate success there.

We are sticking with the same 4 categories as we had last year.

As a reminder these were

Student of the Year

Finance Team of the Year

Outstanding Contribution

Overcoming Adversity

It would be helpful to the judges to have any nominations by the 1st October to allow us to judge and prepare the trophies.

Golf event

As you may be aware, conference this year is on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th October 2021 at the Grand Hotel, Brighton.  Therefore, we have the annual golf event scheduled for Monday 11th October at Haywards Heath GC, teeing off from 1pm. It was felt this may give attendees with further to travel, the option of making the conference a two night stay as opposed to the standard one night (at additional personal cost 1 night rate with the venue).

As usual a number of prizes will be awarded.

Cost is £32 pp for 18 holes golf, plus coffee and bacon roll.

All golfers are welcome !
