ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

HFMA branch and First Intuition student conference - supporting talent.
The day will provide a mix of plenary and workshop sessions. There will also be opportunity to network with other finance students and colleagues studying similar qualifications.

HOW WOULD YOU BENEFIT?

This event will be an opportunity to learn about current developments across the NHS, improve your finance skills through workshops and provide a chance to talk to other finance students.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This one-day event is for any member of finance staff who is currently studying or about to embark on a course of study as well as NHS staff interested in their personal development.

Transfer pricing and recharges
This session will look at the methods for transfer pricing for internal charges. Identifying the practical issues that can arise from the transfer pricing model chosen by the organisation. Relevant in Costing and Strategy units e.g. for ACCA SBL, CIMA P2.

Identifying internal control weaknesses in Purchasing/ Procurement
This practical workshop session will look at the systems and control activities recommended in an organisations purchase system. Relevant for internal reporting and audit modules, e.g. ACCA F8, CIMA P3 and AAT Level 4 PDSY.

Activity based costing and cost drivers
This session will look at how overhead costs can be monitored and reported in much more detail using specific cost drivers. Tested commonly in Management accounting modules e.g. CIMA P1, ACCA PM and AAT Level 4 MADC.

Accounting for PPE
This session will look at the common accounting treatment issue around Property, Plant and Equipment. Covering areas such as depreciation, revaluation and impairment in value. This will be relevant for Financial accounting units e.g. CIMA F1, ACCA FR and AAT Level 4 FSLC.
