About this event

The HFMA annual conference 2021 reimagining the future will provide the biggest and best HFMA conference to date. This year, the conference will be hosted as a hybrid event, providing five days of online and face-to-face content to more NHS finance professionals than ever before.

Face-to-face delegates will join us in person at the London Hilton Metropole from Wednesday 8 - Friday 10 December, where our thought leaders and keynote speakers will be joining us on stage, in London. The London conference will bring you all the usual networking opportunities, exhibition, AGM, gala dinner and Awards ceremony.

Online only delegates will have access to all five days streamed virtually, allowing the whole finance department to get involved in the entire event. This will start with the virtual learning labs streamed online from Monday 6 to Wednesday 8 December, as well as all the mainstage sessions streamed live from London from Wednesday 8 - Friday 10 December.

Why you should attend

We have all missed being able to come together in person, to network and share experiences with colleagues. This year’s annual conference will once again provide important opportunities to meet with your peers and other senior NHS finance professionals through a programme delivering the very latest insight, thought leadership and professional development.

This year’s conference theme, reimagining the future, will encourage delegates to build on the learning and developments during the pandemic to encourage us to remove the constraints of what we think is possible and deliver a future for the NHS that provides a sustainable and effective health service for generations to come. The programme is shaped around four key strands; supporting us to reimagine the health service of the future, an equal future, a digital future and the workforce of the future.

Online FAQs

What is a hybrid event?
This year, the conference will be hosted as a hybrid event, providing five days of online and face-to-face content to more NHS finance professionals than ever before.

Face-to-face delegates will join us in person at the London Hilton Metropole from Wednesday 8 - Friday 10 December, where our thought leaders and keynote speakers will be joining us on stage, in London.

Online only delegates will have access to all five days streamed virtually, allowing the whole finance department to get involved in the entire event.

What online platform is being used and can I test it?
The platform we’ve partnered with is Hopin, which will provide a brilliant online conference and exhibition experience. Once your organisation has confirmed you as a delegate for the conference you will be sent a unique registration link to access the event when it starts. In the meantime, you can create an account on Hopin and check that it is compatible with your device and browser. You can find some additional points below:

1. For the best experience we recommend accessing the platform via Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on a PC, laptop, tablet or Mac. If you are planning to view the conference from an NHS PC or laptop at work, please get in touch with your IT department now to ensure any firewall issues are resolved beforehand.
2. Internet speed will play a factor in your experience on the platform. We recommend a minimum of 5mbps download and 2mbps upload. Ideally, we like to see 30mbps download and 10mbps upload or higher for the best quality - test your speed here.
3. We will also be using this platform to host a number of other virtual events in the lead up to the HFMA annual conference, visit the HFMA website for all upcoming HFMA events.

How do I access the online event?
We recommend accessing the event through either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. In the lead up to the event, you will receive a registration link (it will come into your inbox from “HFMA”). Simply click the link, accept the T&Cs and you’re in! A video explanation can be found here.

Online joining instructions will be sent out to all delegates ahead of the event. You can also view them here.

I haven’t received a registration link from HFMA. How do I access the event?
Please contact event.support@hfma.org.uk and a member of the HFMA team will be in touch with a link.

I’m being asked to enter a username and password. What do I do?
If you haven’t registered for the event, please see the FAQ, “How do I access the event” and the FAQ “I haven’t received a registration link from HFMA. How do I access the event?”
If you have registered for the event, and you’re being asked to log in, you will need to set up a password. Simply click “I’ve forgotten my password”, and it will give you the option to create a password and enter the event.

If I take up one of the online tickets in my organisation, can I transfer it to a colleague, or will it only work for me across the whole conference?
We can transfer online ticket places in the lead up to the conference if you can no longer use your place and would like to give it to a colleague. However, once the conference starts each ticket will remain in the name of the delegate it has been assigned to. If you wish to give a colleague access during the conference with your unique log in, they will have to appear on the event as you under your Hopin account.

How will CPD be recorded?
We are asking each individual attendee to record their CPD hours. Once the conference has finished, you will be sent a link to a feedback form. Once this has been completed you will be able to access your CPD certificate and add your own hours in.

Will I get access to the recorded content afterwards?
The recorded content from the conference will be available to all registered delegates and will be accessible for a month after it is published on our website. The slides from the conference will be available from mid-January.

Please see below for the slides from the 2020 event. Please note that slides are only available if we have had the speaker’s permission.
