About this webinar

The webinar will be hosted by Sue Burton, providing an introduction (or refresher) to the subject and looking at how this topic applies to NHS organisations.

Sue has over 30 years’ experience working at a senior/board level across both primary and secondary care in the NHS and is an FCCA qualified accountant. During the webinar Sue will consider how local government is organised and the key differences between local authorities and the NHS. She will cover the services provided by local government with a focus on social care and public health, the boundaries and responsibilities that fall on local government and the NHS in relation to the organisation and finances.

The session will consider local government sources of income and how they have been affected by restricted public spending and the challenges posed by the Covid 19 pandemic. Closer working between health and social care has never been as high profile, the session will consider how partnership working and integration is progressing.
