Information on entry requirements - Graduate Scheme

If you want to play a part in providing high quality, innovative, productive and preventative healthcare for all, then a career in NHS finance may be the right option for you.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications - 2.2 degree or equivalent qualification eg. AAT/NVQ with three years relevant work experience.

Skills

Excellent numerical, writing, computer literacy, oral and presentation skills.

Personal Qualities

Desire to work in the NHS with the drive and ambition to become a future Director of Finance.

Application Process

We have a number of graduate positions on the scheme in the South West, South Central and West Midlands regions.

To apply for a place on the graduate scheme, you will need to complete the application form. Shortlisted candidates will then be required to complete verbal and numerical tests online.

Following the online testing, successful candidates will then be invited to attend a regional assessment centre. This will include a competency based interview, presentation, written exercises and observed group exercise based on an NHS scenario.

Time Line

Early October 2019: Advert goes live on recruitment, University websites and NHS sites.

Step 1
Applications for 2020 scheme go live.
January 2020: Closing date for applications.

Step 2
You may be invited to complete online verbal and numerical reasoning tests following your online application.

Step 3
You may be invited to attend an HFMA assessment centre with NHS Finance staff to aid the recruitment process.

Step 4
You may be offered a place on the South West, South Central or West Midlands Graduate Training Scheme.
