The NHS is in the middle of an unprecedented period of change which will be challenging for all. The Health and Social Care Bill is affecting all aspects of NHS life, and keeping up to speed with developments that effect your organisation and patients as well as influencing the implementation of policy has never been so important.
This “brave new world” could hold real rewards for the foundation trust sector – liberated, locally driven and innovative - but there could also be real risks for provider trusts. Demand is growing but funding levels are falling. Many commentators believe the true impact of the recession is still to hit us. This “new world” needs innovative thinking and agile organisations.
This two-day event, now in its 8th year, aims to provide delegates with an up-to-the minute update on the issues facing provider trusts be they authorised, applicant or aspirant foundation trusts. Crucially it also provides the opportunity to engage in debate and discussion around the policy and its implementation including :
• the need to build strong relationships with the people making decisions, for example the new commissioning bodies
• boundaries of care becoming blurred
• the tariff and its associated restrictions being replaced with local innovation
• engaging with patients and creating local services that respond to local needs
Aimed predominantly at Directors of Finance and senior finance professionals in provider trusts - be they authorised, applicant or purely aspirant foundation trusts - the event may also be of value to other board members and individuals involved in managing services.
The conference will use a combination of keynote plenary sessions as well as breakout sub-plenary sessions.
