          Carbon reduction is the new black. It’s real, it’s here and it’s going to change the way the NHS does business. This session will provide participants with an introduction to carbon management, an understanding of where carbon emissions arise and an insight into the impact on the healthcare sector of the need to reduce its carbon footprint. It will also draw on best practice and real life case studies to show participants what they can do now to cut carbon, save money and make their organisations stand out from the crowd.

          Quality, Safety and Efficiency
          Newham University Hospitals Trust recently won the Efficiency Award at the HFMA 2009 Awards. A dedicated team was established to identify how improvements would be delivered and led to the trust setting up its quality, safety and efficiency programme. The results have been exceptional, not only through achieving savings in the short term but by creating a cultural shift that is a positive legacy to assist in the development of future years’ savings plans. This session will give the opportunity to learn from this organisations achievements and experiences.

          This session will explore, define and develop practical solutions to the QIPP agenda. Led by their Health Team, Deloittes will run a DeepDive™ workshop using some of the latest innovations from their work with NHS clients to stimulate debate. The team will be made up of practitioners highly experienced at implementing challenging and complex programmes across the NHS within commissioning and provider organisations. Developed to help some of the biggest organisations in the world make the most of innovation, DeepDive™ takes a really great idea, helps explore who needs to do what when … and looks at exciting ways of innovating the “how” of making it happen.
