ACCA
ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the global body for professional accountants. We aim to offer business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management.
We support our 122,000 members and 325,000 students throughout their careers, providing services through a network of 80 offices and centres. Our global infrastructure means that exams and support are delivered – and reputation and influence developed – at a local level, directly benefiting stakeholders wherever they are based, or plan to move to, in pursuit of new career opportunities.
ACCA UK HEALTH NETWORK
ACCA has approximately 3,000 members and students working in the UK health sector. These members and students are supported by a panel of elected representatives who work in the NHS.
ACCA organises the following services for health sector employees. (Please note: these services are open to all – whether members of ACCA or another Institute.)
Quarterly health magazine - Health Service Review
Health Service Review is a FREE magazine that is published four times per year. It contains news and feature articles on key issues affecting the healthcare sector, as well as the latest news on relevant ACCA activities, publications and events.
Lecture programme
ACCA organises a FREE lecture programme. The majority of lectures are held at our Head Office in London but we are happy to run them in other locations.
Annual health conferences
ACCA organises an annual health conference in Wales and an annual health conference in England.
Policy work
ACCA undertakes various pieces of policy work, usually in conjunction with other bodies such as the Department of Health or the European Commission. Recent projects include:
Understanding Governance in the NHS
This is a three year study that ACCA is undertaking in conjunction with DH to identify current understanding of governance in the NHS.
The cost benefit of electronic patient referrals in Denmark
This report, as the title suggests, examines the cost benefit of using electronic means to refer patients to hospital. (This is one of a series of studies that ACCA is undertaking with the EC.)
