Tony Whitfield
I have been a finance director in the NHS for nearly 20 years, since 2002 I have been Finance Director and Deputy CEO at Salford Royal FT. Salford Royal has been at the leading edge of the NHS management and clinical practice which has been recognised over the past two years by the HCC in awarding of “Double Excellent”. I have a keen interest in making the bridges to create the alignment of management and clinical priorities. In the role of finance director I have been involved in a number of national initiatives of late in the field of Service Line Reporting moving towards Service Line Management. Over the years I have shown passionate commitment to Finance staff development and training through work in the North West and with HFMA.
Why I wanted to be an HFMA Trustee:
I have been a proud member of the association for over 20 years and I have always appreciated the contribution HFMA make to supporting finance staff within the NHS, with the changing economic outlook.
I would hope I could bring my long standing experience to ensure that the association is able to continue to support the membership through what will be a difficult period of change for the public sector.
