6,500 places booked

Training and Development

Date: 31 Mar 2008

Since its launch in early July 2007, 6,500 places have been booked on the Introductory Certificate in Healthcare Finance e-learning course, which aims to provide learners with a basic understanding and awareness of fundamental aspects of NHS finance and help them to develop the knowledge they need to carry out the financial responsibilities associated with their role, through e-learning and associated distance learning texts.

The Certificate is aimed at non finance professionals in the NHS in England, particularly General and Divisional Managers, Nurse Managers, Practice Managers, Practice Staff and NEDs. It is also relevant to finance staff new to the NHS and junior finance staff .

So far the feedback that we have received has been extremely positive.  Comments include:

“NHS finance can be complicated and full of jargon. This e-learning course offers right balance of training that can be absorbed in easy stages – giving managers better skills to do the right things right first time when it comes to managing resources.”

“This course offers good basic information about NHS finances – things that all staff influencing finance need to understand.

“It is very easy to use and - because it is just you and your computer - there isn’t the peer pressure that comes with traditional learning, you can be much more honest about your baseline knowledge of finance.”
