Following the success of the last year’s inaugural Anglo Dutch Exchange, we are pleased to be able to offer places on the Anglo - Dutch Exchange 2008.
The HEAD is a Dutch healthcare finance association with approximately 1000 members. The association has a large range of finance directors and managers from healthcare finance in the Netherlands. The HEAD covers four main sectors; these are: general hospitals, mental health institutions, nursing homes and healthcare organisations for disabled including learning disabilities.
HEAD works towards professional development and is a platform for networking, influence and advice. The association organises a lot of activities including training, workshops and conferences. An essential task for the association is providing a network to its members and the HEAD now wish to expand this opportunity by working with the HFMA to allow cross border networking.
The programme will work in a similar way to last year’s programme so we are looking for five people to take part in the two leg exchange programme.
The first leg will involve travelling to the Netherlands for three days. The three days will include a meeting with all of the exchange participants followed by travel to the area of your exchange partner, the second day will involve visiting the organisation of your exchange partner to shadow them for the day and the third day is a more flexible day which can include another full day organisation visit, a half day visit plus travel back or a flexible day doing something arranged by the exchange partner. The first leg is planned for the 2nd, 3rd & 4th July 2008.
The second leg will involve being paired with someone from the Dutch Health Service and hosting your Dutch partner for three days, allowing them to visit your organisation and sharing knowledge of the UK health service. This is planned for the 17th, 18th & 19th September 2008.
The exchange programme is open to Directors of Finance, Deputy Directors or Senior Finance Staff. There is no cost associated with participating in the exchange programme although participants will have to pay for their own travel and accommodation when visiting the Netherlands. The HEAD have kindly offered to assist with finding transportation and accommodation if required.
The Anglo - Dutch Exchange programme brings together two communities of finance professionals from the UK and Dutch Healthcare systems. It is a programme that brings together a mix of work and social life and your support on this programme would be much appreciated.
