FT Finance Group - Terms of Reference
The FT Finance Group is the Faculty of HFMA which represents the financial management interests of the Foundation Trust community, be they authorized, applicant or purely aspirant.
Constitution
- The Group is a Faculty of the Association and is bound by the rules and regulations of the Board of Trustees
- The Faculty will report regularly to the Board of Trustees
- The various sub-groups will meet at suitable intervals and communicate by e-mail and the website
Organisation
- There shall be a Chairman of the FT Finance Group who will be nominated from amongst the members involved in Foundation Trusts
- The nomination for the Chairman shall be reported to the Nominations Committee of HFMA and their election be reported at the Annual General Meeting of the Association
- There shall be sub-groups of the main Steering Committee which shall be established from time to time as appropriate
- The Chairman may limit the number of members of each group who commit to both attending regularly and undertaking the work program. Others may be co-opted or invited to participate as wok streams develop.
Purpose
The FT Finance Group aims to:
- Be the representative voice of HFMA on all matters connected to the formation, development and management of NHS Foundation Trusts
- Co-ordinate HFMA’s policy to enable the Trusts and the national committees to inform local and national debates
- Showcase good practice in the area of NHS Foundation Trusts
- Disseminate information to members about the progress of the initiatives and any other matter related to NHS Foundation Trusts which the Group sees fit.
- Provide a vehicle for ordinary members of HFMA to voice concerns, seek advice and make comments
- Provide a formal channel into the Department of Health, Monitor and other regulatory bodies
- Develop partnerships with other professional bodies and particularly work in partnership with the Foundation Trust Network
The outputs of the Group will take the form of a regular report to the Board of Trustees, publications, proceedings, bulletins and responses
