Welcome to the Northern Ireland Branch
Welcome to the HFMA Northern Ireland Branch page. The Northern Ireland branch has approximately 150 members including most of the Directors of Finance in the province. Membership has grown in recent years & continues to do so; this evidences the importance of the Branch activities and its support to those working in HPSS finance.
Each year the Branch plans and organises an active events programme which forms the core of the branch’s activities. As well as addressing current issues, these events provide important training and development opportunities for all levels of finance staff. The Branch provides members with certificates of attendance at events for the dual purpose of meeting the Knowledge, Skills & Framework (KSF) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements and objectives. Branch events also bring together members on a regular basis providing valuable opportunities to establish and develop networks. The highlight of the Branch activities each year is the Annual Conference, usually held in November. The organisation of this conference is carefully planned and aimed at being very relevant and topical. In December each year the Branch combines its AGM with the ‘Christmas Cracker’ event. The presentation of the Fred Armstrong Award also takes place at this event.
The Branch Executive Committee meets regularly and continues to maintain the interests of members as a central focus for its plans.
The Branch seeks to increase its influence and it continues to actively encourage the development of links with other organisations with an involvement in financial management in the HPSS. The branch also continues to maintain and enhance its links with CCAB bodies. In addition, the branch contributes to the consultation process for strategic HPSS issues that arise.
The branch is also active in national HFMA issues and has representation at national HFMA level.
